The FIBA U18 Women's AfroBasket is the flagship competition for women's national youth teams.
This year, South Africa will host the FIBA U18 Women's AfroBasket from 1 to 13 September. With 12 national teams.
GROUP PHASE
The twelve (12) teams will be divided into three (3) groups (A, B and C) of four (4) teams each.
Each team will play all the other teams in its own group (a total of three [3] games for each team). A total of eighteen (18) games shall be played in the Group Phase.
The teams placed first and second in each group and the two (2) best third-placed teams in the Group Phase will qualify for the Final Phase.
The remaining four (4) teams shall play the classification from 9th to 12th place.
FINAL PHASE
The classification of teams from 1st to 12th place shall be established according to the FIBA Official Basketball Rules, Chapter D – Classification of Teams.
Quarter-finals Round
Classification 9 – 12 place
Game 19: Team placed 9th – Team placed 12th
Game 20: Team placed 10th – Team placed 11th
The two (2) winners will play the classification games (places 9-10).
The two (2) losers will play the classification games (place 11-12).
Quarter-finals
The Quarter-Finals shall be played as follows:
Game 21: Team placed 1st - Team placed 8th
Game 22: Team placed 2nd – Team placed 7th
Game 23: Team placed 3rd – Team placed 6th
Game 24: Team placed 4th – Team placed 5th
The four (4) winners will qualify for the Semi-Finals (places 1-4).
The four (4) losers will play the classification games (places 5-8).
The semi-finals Round
Classification 5 – 12 place
Game 25 : Loser 19 – Loser 20 (11-12)
Game 26 : Winner 19 – Winner 20 (9-10)
Game 27 : Loser 21 – Loser 24 (5-8)
Game 28 : Loser 22 – Loser 23 (5-8)
Semi-Finals
Game 29: Winner 21 – Winner 24 (1-4)
Game 30: Winner 22 – Winner 23 (1-4)
Final Round
Classification 5 – 8 Place
Game 31: Loser 27 – Loser 28 (7-8 place)
Game 32: Winner 27 – Winner 28 (5-6 place)
Third-place Game & Final
Game 33: Loser 29 – Loser 30 (3-4 place)
Game 34: Winner 29 – Winner 30 (1-2 place, Final)
The two best teams will qualify for the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup.
