MISKOLC (Hungary) - Kathy-Emma Otto took the honor of being crowned MVP of the FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket 2024 after just missing out on a France three-peat.
Otto headlines the All-Star Five of the event, which also includes teammate Emma Broliron, Italy's Isabel Mohamud Mohamed Hassan, Spain's Somtochukwu-Blessed Okafor and Jessie Julia Nenonen of Finland.
MVP: Kathy-Emma Otto - France
In the Final, Kathy-Emma Otto dropped her third tournament double-double as she came so close to leading her nation to a three-peat. The power forward's presence on the boards was top 10 in the tournament as she averaged 10.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.
Emma Broliron - France
The French guard was second in French scoring in the Final and 11th in the tournament overall, making up part of this dominant French team that looked unstoppable before the title-decider. Across the board she averaged 12.1 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists at the event.
Isabel Hassan - Italy
Top 10 in scoring and top 20 in rebounding, the Italian forward had a consistent tournament as her nation finished in the top four. She finished averaging 14.0 points per game, 6.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists also recording two double-doubles.
Somtochukwu-Blessed Okafor - Spain
It was Spain who ultimately pipped Italy to the third spot and Okafor was Spain's focal point in the guard position. She recorded five double-digit performances to finish among the tournament's leading scorers overall and made solid contributions elsewhere for a team that only lost to France throughout. These were 11.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
Jessi Nenonen - Finland
Part of a Finland basketball team that will never be forgotten, Nenonen led Finland in the Final as they secured their first ever Youth EuroBasket title and over the tournament impressed with averages of 11.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game.
