MUNICH (Germany) - With the summer Olympics now a distant memory, national team basketball returns with the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers. The November window brings us the unique case of all matchups being played twice in just a span of just a few days.
A total of 32 teams are set to compete across 16 exciting head-to-head matchups from November 21-25, with not only pride but qualification hopes of each nation very much on the line.
Some November pairings have a lot of history - such is the case with Poland and Estonia who have faced each other nine times, most recently in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers with the teams splitting the games.
Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina have had historic successes together as parts of the former Yugoslavia and have since clashed seven times as independent teams. This local and historic rivalry will enter its new chapter with showdowns in Zagreb and Sarajevo, likely deciding who of these two teams will qualify from the Group E.
Of all the teams that will play each other in November, Germany have the best record over their November rivals with a perfect 8-0 head-to-head score against Sweden. However, with all teams currently at 1-1 in Group D, the Swedes will be determined to inflict an upset on the world champions.
Moreover, three pairings have a historic ring to their name as France and Cyprus, Denmark and Serbia, Spain and Slovakia will face each other for the first time.
