    How to Qualify

    Qualification for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 follows the FIBA Men's National Team Competition System, which sets out the road to all of FIBA's main men's competitions.

    A total of 80 national teams from the four FIBA regions of Africa (16 teams), Americas (16 teams), Asia and Oceania (16 teams) and Europe (32 teams) will play in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Qualifiers.

    Two games per window will be played on a home-and-away basis in six windows, except Africa who will play tournaments, to qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027. Each window will be nine days long, beginning on Monday and finishing on the following Tuesday.

    The Draw of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Qualifiers will take place on May 13, 2025, in the host city of Doha.

    The windows will take place as follows: 

    November 24 to December 2, 2025 

    February 23 to March 3, 2026 

    June 29 to July 7, 2026

    August 24 to September 1, 2026 

    November 23 to December 1, 2026 

    February 22 to March 2, 2027
