    PANAMA (Centrobasket) – Mexico completed a comeback after being down by 17 points and defeated Bahamas, 84 – 81. Mexico now has a 3-1 record at the 2016 Centrobasket, and will have to wait for the result of Dominican Republic vs. Virgin Islands, to know their future.

    • Turning Point: A 19 – 0 from the Mexicans tied the score at 75. What continued was the exchange of the lead on the scoreboard. With 2:00 to go, Bahamas had a 3-point lead, 80 – 77. Cruz scored a lay-up and the difference was of 1, with 37 seconds to play. From the free-throw line, Cooper added a point for Bahamas. Mexico called a timeout and from the corner, Hernandez hit a three-pointer that sent Mexico to the top of the scoreboard. Bahamas lost the ball and Toscano added two more for Mexico, sealing the victory for the Defending Champs.

    • Stats don’t lie: Mexico had better numbers in the assist column, 20 – 14.

    • Game Hero: Jorge Gutierrez accumulated a triple-double of 22 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assist, but Hector Hernandez was Mexico’s Hero after hitting that game-winning three-pointer from the corner. Hernandez accumulated 24 points in the victory.

    • The Bottom Line: Mexico now awaits the result of the game between the Dominican Republic and Virgin Islands to know who from Group B would qualify to the Semifinals of the Centrobasket.
