    Obras start BCL Americas season 5 campaign strong vs UDEC

    FRANCA (Brazil) – Obras Sanitarias got their Basketball Champions League 2023-24 campaign off to a winning start by handing UdeC their second loss of Season 5, 93-75.

    FRANCA (Brazil) – Obras Sanitarias got their Basketball Champions League 2023-24 campaign off to a winning start by handing UdeC their second loss of Season 5, 93-75.

     

    The game was back-and-forth for about half of the first quarter before Obras took the lead and never looked back the rest of the game, extending their lead out to as many as 20 points.

    Andre Spight led Obras with a well-rounded game of 24 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals for an efficiency of 32. The 28-year-old guard shot 10-of-16 from the field and 3-of-7 from three-point range.

    Leandro Cerminato also chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds for the victors.

    Obras were able to put the ball in the basket at a higher percentage, as they shot 48 percent overall while UdeC only converted 32.5 percent. Obras also got out into transition and scored 32 fast break points as well as scoring 20 points from turnovers.

    Yahota Rosas stood out in defeat for UdeC and just missed out on a double-double with 16 points and 9 rebounds.

    Obras move to 1-0 while UdeC fall to 0-2 in Group D. Obras play again on Friday against Sesi Franca (1-0) while UdeC won’t resume their BCLA season until January 20.
