It was only four years ago that Canada equaled the previous high in assists made with 37 against Jordan after Serbia had recorded 37 themselves in the same 2019 tournament.
However, they breezed past that total with an impressive display at the Indonesia Arena to become the first team to register 40+ assists in a single game at the World Cup since the data was officially recorded from 1994.
Trae Bell-Haynes led the way with 8 assists, closely followed by Nickeil Alexander-Walker with 7, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Kelly Olynyk and Phil Scrubb also dished out 5 assists.
