MANILA (Philippines) - He was dubbed the leader of this team, and against Jordan, Anthony Edwards proved just how lethal he can be. His flights sent the United States to another win, keeping them perfect record with a 110-62 victory on Wednesday.
USA will take on Montenegro and Lithuania in the Second Round, while Jordan move to the Classification Games 17-32 with hopes of chasing the Olympics or the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
Turning point: April 29. That's when the official FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 draw presented by Wanda took place and put the United States in the same group as Jordan. One of them were always going to be the favorites to win the whole event, while the other had a total of one win in 10 previous World Cup games.
There was no drama whatsoever in this game, as USA ran away with it from the moment Jaren Jackson Jr. scored the first two points of the game.
TCL Player of the Game: Anthony Edwards made the game his own early on, pouring in 13 points before Jordan realized what hit them. The 22-year-old counted to 22, done on 8-of-16 shooting, with 8 rebounds and 4 assists also to his name.
Oh, and he did fly, don't doubt it.

Stats don't lie: Everything went USA's way. Perhaps the biggest difference was the points in the paint, USA won those 56-22.
Bottom line: Coach Steve Kerr already has his thoughts set on Montenegro and Lithuania, and he managed the load perfectly between the 12 players throughout the Group C stage. Against Jordan, only Tyrese Haliburton logged in more than 20 minutes.
As for Jordan, Rondae Hollis Jefferson continued his remarkable journey, getting 20 points and 7 rebounds.
They said: "We tried our best, we fought. It was a really good experience for me and the guys. We just tried to have out there." - Ahmad Hammouri, Jordan
"We tried to put up a fight, unfortunately, first quarter we were not there to put up that fight, and to show the spirit we showed in the first two games. You know there are big differences between USA basketball and Jordan basketball." - Wesam Al-Sous, Jordan head coach
"We just wanted to look at some of the lineups. The tricky part with FIBA is that you only have a few weeks to figure out your team as opposed to an NBA season where you have six or seven or eight months. We just felt like it was important to have a look at Josh (Hart) with the starting group and Brandon (Ingram) with the next group and see if the combinations fit. I liked what I saw. The game wasn't competitive, but it was a good flow from both groups. We'll see. We haven't made any decision moving forward, but we just wanted to look at some things." - Steve Kerr, USA head coach
"(The depth) is super important moving forward. Some nights, I'm not going to have it. Guys like Tyrese (Haliburton), Austin (Reaves), Jalen Brunson, everybody... I mean all 12 of us can put the ball through the hoop. We just feed off of one another, that's super important that we got that depth." - Anthony Edwards, USA
