    Fournier becomes France's all-time leading World Cup scorer

    JAKARTA (Indonesia) - Evan Fournier is now the all-time leading scorer at the FIBA Basketball World Cup for France.

    JAKARTA (Indonesia) - Evan Fournier is now the all-time leading scorer at the FIBA Basketball World Cup for France.

    The prolific guard trailed teammate Nicolas Batum by two points heading into their final group game against Lebanon and moved to 285 points overall with a 17-point display in the win.

    Batum came up with some clutch shots against Lebanon to finish with 12 points and move to 282 points in his World Cup career with two games still remaining for Les Bleus in the 17-32 Classification Round.

    Fournier finished the First Round with an average of 21.7 points per game across three appearances as France were eliminated from contention after successive losses.

    This is the second World Cup appearance for Fournier after previously featuring in the 2019 edition with 19.8 points per game as France landed the third spot on the podium.
