MIES/MANILA (Switzerland/Philippines) - BDO Unibank, the largest bank in the Philippines, is to serve as an Event Sponsor for the forthcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.
The company has thrown its support behind the showpiece event which tips off this Friday August 25, amidst incredible excitement and anticipation.
Philippines are not only co-hosting the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 with Indonesia and Japan, but will be the place to be for the eagerly anticipated Final Phase of the competition.
This means the nation will receive unprecedented attention not only from the global basketball family, but from the wider sporting world.
"This is just our small way of showing support for the sport and our national team," said BDO Unibank President and CEO Nestor V. Tan as he expressed his satisfaction with the sponsorship agreement.
Games in the Philippines will be played in three venues - the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City and the Philippine Arena in Bulacan for the opening day.
Renowned for their unquenchable appetite and love of basketball, fans of the Philippines are counting down every single second until the first games get underway in the competition.
And, none more so than when their national team opens up their campaign against the Dominican Republic on Friday - with an incredible crowd expected to be present at the Philippine Arena to see it.
