    MANILA (Philippines) - The wait is just about over and the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 is about to tip off. here are lists of the youngest and oldest players as well as the tallest and shortest players.

    MANILA (Philippines) - The wait is just about over and the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 is about to tip off. History has already been made though with the final roster confirmations giving a list of superlatives among the 384 players.

    After scouring the 32 team rosters, here are lists of the youngest and oldest players as well as the tallest and shortest players.

    South Sudan young talent Khaman Malauch will not turn 17 until just after the World Cup making him the youngest player in the tournament. The list also includes some of the most highly regarded prospects in the world including Serbia's Nikola Jovic, Spain's Juan Nunez, Finland budding star Miro Little as well as Australian Dyson Daniels and Gael Bonilla of Mexico.

    Marcelinho Huertas has already turned 40 but it hardly feels like he is slowing down, and the Brazilian playmaker will be the oldest player at the tournament followed by Jordan legend Zaid Abbas. Rudy Fernandez will be hoping to repeat the title with Spain while Iran's Hamed EHaddadi is another huge name on this list.

    The 2023 World Cup has no shortage of big men and the tallest player at the tournament is Canada center 2.24m (7ft 4 in). Cape Verde star Edy Taveras towers just behind Edey at 2.21m (7ft 3in) while Hamed EHaddadi of Iran, France's Moustapha Fall and Kai Sotto of Philippines are among a sextet of players 2.18m (7ft 2in) tall.

    Japan and Angola both have a pair of short guards - both of them featuring players standing 1.65m (5ft 6in) in Childe Dundao for the Africans and Yuki Togashi for Japan. Their backcourt mates are Yuki Kawamura at 1.72m (5ft 8in) and Gerson Domingos at 1.79m (5ft 10in). But the list of the 10 shortest players also includes a number of players who will have leading roles including Brazil's Yago Santos, Sajjad Mashayeskhi of Iran and Puerto Rican Tremont Waters.
