Top Performers in second half of Window 2: Jamshidi, Kay, Vodanovich, Ibrahim, Haidar

BEIRUT (Lebanon) - Mohammad Jamshidi led the individual performers in the first half of Window 2 in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers with 41 points.

Iran rebounded from a tough loss to beat Syria, 95-48, in their last game of the window, carried by the superb scoring skills of Jamshidi, who recorded 48 EFF in this game. His 41 points came on only 18 field goal attempts with no three-pointers and 17 made free-throws. Those points also accounted for more than half of Iran's entire point tally in the game, and is also the most by any player across all Qualifiers regardless of region so far in this cycle.

Reaching at least 30 EFF in just one game is not easy, but Nick Kay made it look easy by posting up two straight games of 30 EFF in the second half of this window. Kay's performance was highlighted by a triple-double of 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists, though he had been flirting with achieving this statistical milestone since his this window first game.

Another player who played and put on a high-level performance in two games during the second half of Window 2 was New Zealand's Tom Vodanovich. The 27-year-old recorded double-doubles of 20 points and 10 rebounds in both of the Tall Blacks' wins, while also putting in 2.5 steals per game to end up with an average of 26.5 EFF.

Freddy Ibrahim already had an impressive game in the first half of the window against Lebanon, but outdid himself in Jordan's win over Indonesia. 94-64.  The 25-year-old point guard nearly got a triple-double with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 10 assists in this game. Ibrahim's 28 EFF is his highest so far in the Asian Qualifiers.

Lebanon and Ali Haidar were hungry for a win after losing their fist game of the window, and did so impressively in the win against Saudi Arabia, 81-68. Haidar had 23 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals in his 23 EFF performance.
