The Falcons confirmed their spot as a result of New Zealand’s win over Saudi Arabia in the first game day of Window 6. Saudi Arabia’s loss puts their current record at 2-7 which means that they won’t be able to mathematically finish higher than Jordan, who are 4-4, in the standings.
This will be the third World Cup appearance for Jordan and the second consecutive appearance after playing in China for the 2019 edition. Their best performance so far in the World Cup was in their 2010 debut, finishing 23rd among all teams in Turkey.
With Jordan being the 7th team playing in the Asian Qualifiers to qualify for the World Cup, joining co-hosts Philippines and Japan, Lebanon, New Zealand, Australia, and China, only one more qualifying spot to the World Cup is up for grabs.
