MIAMI (United States) - Colombia advanced to the Second Round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Americas Qualifiers behind Braian Angola and Juan Tello, who headline the final Window 3 Top Performers.

MIAMI (United States) - Colombia grabbed a thrilling upset victory over Brazil to qualify to the Second Round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Americas Qualifiers, leading to their duo of Braian Angola and Juan Tello headlining the Top Performers of Gameday 2 in Window 3.

Power forward Tello and shooting guard/small forward Angola, both with an efficiency rating of 28, head our list of the most outstanding players of the final two days of games in the Americas.

Those two players did everything for Colombia to keep their hopes alive of qualifying for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 that will be played in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia.

Tello finished with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists on 11-of-20 shooting from the field in Colombia’s important 104-98 victory against Brazil in double overtime, becoming the first double overtime game in the history of the World Cup Qualifiers in the Americas.

Angola, meanwhile, in addition to knocking down a clutch shot with 30 seconds to play, finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals.

The 37-year-old Tello and 28-year-old Angola became the first two players to combine for 25+ points, 10+ rebounds and 5+ assists in a World Cup qualifier game in the Americas.

Another player who shined was Jose Alvarado, who in this third window made his impressive debut with the Puerto Rico national team, and what a great addition he was. The point guard led the team to a 97-87 overtime victory over Mexico with 22 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, 8-of-16 shooting from the field and 4-of-8 from three-point with an efficiency rating of 25.

The Argentine Nicolas Brussino was also a key factor in his team finishing the window with two wins. In the 88-77 road win over Panama, the guard/forward finished with 24 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 8-of-12 shooting from the field and 6-of-9 from three-point with an efficiency rating of 25.

Last but not least, there's Dominican Republic center Angel Delgado who produced 15 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and shot 7-of-11 from the field with an efficiency rating of 24 in the team's 88-80 win over Bahamas. Delgado was a force on the inside and grabbed at least 10 rebounds in all four qualifying games that he played in over the course of two windows.

Hopefully we get to see all five of these players suit up for their respective national teams at some point in the Second Round of qualifying, as they provide a huge lift.
