YAOUNDE (FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 African Qualifiers) - Cameroon trailed by ten points with five minutes remaining to deny Chad 65-60 in FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 African Qualifiers Group A in their capital of Yaounde on Friday night.

Against all the odds, Chad - who replaced South Africa in the Qualifiers two weeks ago - led a  star-studded Cameroon for most of the contest, but it was a matter of time as Jeremy Nzeulie, Kenneth Kadji and Gideon Pittard combined a number of successful shots to outscore Abdoulaye Nodjimadji's team 15-0 to secure a much-need triumph.

Kadji and Nzeulie combined for 33 Cameroon points while Placide Nakidjim and Michael Koibe led the proceedings in the losing cause with a combining 28 points.

The Yaounde Qualifier resume on Saturday with Chad going up against African champions Tunisia while Cameroon will take on Guinea.
