    Locations, schedule for First Round of Asia Cup 2025 Pre-Qualifiers in Groups C, D confirmed

    BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The locations of the Second Round of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Pre-Qualifiers have been confirmed by the FIBA Regional Office - Asia on Tuesday, October 4.

    BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The locations of the First Round of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Pre-Qualifiers for Groups C and D have been confirmed by the FIBA Regional Office - Asia on Tuesday, October 4.

    The Pre-Qualifiers is ready to spring back into action in the November window as teams begin their journey towards qualifying for Asia’s premier competition.

    Who are the participating teams?

    A total of 8 national teams will participate in the November Pre-Qualifiers. The National teams of Guam, Hong Kong and Singapore will be in Group C, while Group D hosts Mongolia will host Malaysia, Tahiti, Vietnam and Thailand.

    When and where will teams be playing?

    Group C games will take place in Bengaluru, India at the Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium from 10-12 November, while Group D games will be played in Ulaanbaatar at the Steppe Arena from 10-14 November.

    How will teams qualify for Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers?

    The Pre-Qualifiers will be played in two rounds. In the first round, the teams in each region (Western and Eastern) will be divided into two Groups with Groups A and B for the Western Region and Groups C and D for the Eastern Region. These groups will play in separate Round Robin tournaments to qualify the three best ranked teams to the Second Round. 

    In the Second Round, the three best ranked teams in Groups A and B will combine as Group E, while the three best ranked teams in Groups C and D will combine as Group F. Each team will play against the three new teams in their respective groups. The records of each team will carry over from the First Round. 

    The four best ranked teams in each group will qualify for the Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers.

    Which teams are already in the Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers?

    The teams that are already qualified for the Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers are the teams that played in Asia Cup 2022. The teams are defending champions Australia, Lebanon, New Zealand, Jordan, Iran, Japan, China, Korea, Indonesia, Chinese Taipei, Syria, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kazakstan, and India.
