Seasoned veterans Clarence "Sonny" Weems Jr. and Marshon Brooks will provide the firepower for the Southern Tigers in Thailand. 33-year-old Weems is as experienced as they come, having played in the NBA for several teams as well as starring for top clubs in Lithuania, Russia, Israel, and Turkey. The 2008 second-round NBA draft pick also spent the 2017-2018 season playing in the CBA with Zhejiang Guangsha and was impressive enough to get picked up again with Guangdong last season.
Former Providence Friar Brooks will also be bringing along quite a resumé for his FIBA Asia Champions Cup debut. The 2011 first-round pick played 5 seasons in the NBA before a 3 season stint with the Jiangsu Dragons in China. He was picked up late last season by Guangdong late last season.
(Marshon Brook, CBA Finals)
The two provided immense firepower for the Southern Tigers that swept their way through to win the CBA finals.
Weems and Brooks will be leading a talented group of up-and-coming talents including Xu Jie and Du Runwang, both of who have starred for the China U18 national team.
(Xu Jie, CBA Finals)

The following day will see them matchup against Hyundai Mobis at 20:30 PM (GMT +7). The Southern Tigers’ final match of the Group Phase should be a firecracker as they go up against 2-time champion Al-Riyadi at 20:30 PM (GMT +7).
Will the Guangdong Southern Tigers be able to win it all and get the 5th FIBA Asia Champions Cup title from a Chinese club?
