    BANGKOK (Thailand) – Lebanese champions Al Riyadi are replacing the spot previously secured by the San Miguel Beermen of the Philippines Basketball Association (PBA) in the final 8 of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2019.

    This will be the 10th time for Al Riyadi to participate in the Asia Champions Cup. The proud Lebanese club is one of the most successful in Asia Champions Cup history with 2 titles and 7 times finishing among the top 3. Their most recent championship was in 2017 when they beat China Kashgar (Xinjiang Flying Leopards) in Chenzhou, 88-59.

    The FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2019 will be held in Thailand from 24-29 September. Al Riyadi also participated in last year’s Asia Champions Cup, also held in Thailand, highlighted by win over China’s Liaoning Flying Leopards on Amir Saoud’s 50-point outing.

    Aside from Al Riyadi, the other teams confirmed in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2019 are Alvark Tokyo (JPN), Guangdong Southern Tigers (CHN), Hyundai Mobis (KOR), Hitech Bangkok City (THA), Fubon Braves (TPE), Al Muharraq (BHR), and Palayesh Naft Abadan (IRI).
