BANGKOK, Thailand (FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Women 2016)- Hong Kong’s coach Koon Kin Ho got her team from an 11-2 deficit early in the first quarter to a 72-65 win in the matchup against Kazakhstan.

BANGKOK, Thailand (FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Women 2016)- Hong Kong coach Koon Kin Ho got her team from an  11-2 deficit early in the first quarter to beat Kazakhstan, 72-65. The team endured a rough start against the Central Asians, but Koon intervened at the right moment to steer her team to their second consecutive victory at FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Women 2016.

Halfway through the first quarter, coach Koon asked for a time out after which her team imposed their own rhythm on the game.

"I changed my whole defensive plan," said Koon. "I asked them to put more pressure on the opponents and to try and rely more on fast breaks."

Tomorrow, Hong Kong face Malaysia in a crucial Level II encounter.

"The game against Malaysia is probably the most important game for my team," added Koon. "I understand how fast they are and will plan for the game accordingly."

But Malaysia aren't the only team that concerns her. Indonesia have also won their opening two games and the matchup on Wednesday will be crucial in determining the top two in Level II.

"Tomorrow we face Malaysia and after that we face Indonesia," Koon said. "I understand they might be the toughest opponents for us, winning those games will be crucial for us."

Even though the competition is tough, coach Koon is not here to win a game or two. She wants more - a place in Level I for the upcoming edition.

"I’m here to win as many games as possible," she declared. "I intend to have a shot at Level I."
