    FIBA U16 Asian Championship 2022 field set following conclusion of WABA Qualifiers

    DOHA (Qatar) - The field of teams playing at the FIBA U16 Asian Championship 2022 is now complete.

    DOHA (Qatar) - The field of teams playing at the FIBA U16 Asian Championship 2022 is now complete.

    The 13 teams that will be playing at the U16 Asian Championships are Australia, Philippines, Korea, New Zealand, Japan, Bahrain, India, Indonesia, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Iran, Lebanon, and hosts Qatar.

    The last two spots at the U16 Asian Championship were claimed by Iran and Lebanon following the conclusion of the FIBA U16 Asian Championship WABA Qualifiers. The tournament was played in Amman, Jordan from May 10-14. Iran won all four of them games, while Lebanon went 3-1 to edge out Jordan, Syria, and Iraq to qualify for the next stage.

    The U16 Asian Championship will be played from Jun 12-19 in Doha, Qatar. The 13 teams will be competing for the final four spots available at the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2022 which will be played from July 2-10 in Malaga, Spain. The four teams to qualify from the U16 Asian Championship will be the teams that advance to the Quarter-Finals of the competition.
