Lebanon made light work of moving into the last four as they stayed unbeaten via a dominant 83-63 win against a short-handed Syria. Their opponents were without Alicia Magarian and also suffered a couple of injuries within the game that will be of concern ahead of the Qualification to the Semi-Finals.
Syria also had no answer to a stellar show from playmaker Rebecca Akl who showed out with a stunning game line of 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the way for Lebanon. Only Randi Brown offered any significant resistance in defeat with 18 points.
Meanwhile Jordan are yet to taste defeat and also safely into the Semi-Finals after blasting their way past the still winless Kazakhstan 72-51.
A red-hot first-half set the tone, with Kazakhstan not able to keep pace with the high-tempo style of the hosts who dropped 7 three-point shots before the interval and piled on the agony when the game resumed after the break.
It was another strong team effort from Jordan with four players posting double-digit scoring returns again. Zara Najjar impressed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, Natasha Cloud excelled with 14 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds, while Rasha Abdo had a sweet 15 points.
The completion of the Group phase games also means the Qualification to the Semi-Finals are set, with Syria meeting Kazakhstan and Indonesia facing Iran on Wednesday.
