    USA announce AmeriCup training camp roster

    MIAMI (United States) - USA Basketball announced a list of 15 players who will participate in FIBA AmeriCup 2022 training camp from August 23-27 in Las Vegas.

    MIAMI (United States) - USA Basketball announced a list of 15 players who will participate in FIBA AmeriCup 2022 training camp from August 23-27 in Las Vegas.

    The training camp roster includes five players who have some various level of USA Basketball experience and 10 players making their USA debuts.

    Will Davis II most recently played in the July 2022 FIBA World Cup Qualifying window, as well as the February 2021 FIBA AmeriCup Qualifying window. Orlando Johnson and Frank Mason III also played alongside Davis in the November 2021 World Cup Qualifying window.

    Stephen Zimmerman represented USA in the February 2019 World Cup Qualifying window after previously playing with the junior national team, while Jeremy Pargo played on the February 2020 AmeriCup qualifying team.

    "USA Basketball is looking forward to defending our 2017 FIBA AmeriCup title this fall and are thankful for this group of athletes who will come into a training camp ready to work hard," said Sean Ford, USA Basketball men's national team director. "Our goal is to always put together a roster of athletes who are ready to play the international style of basketball at the highest level. These players have a mix of USA Basketball and professional experience that will help us achieve that goal."

    The team for training camp will be led by AmeriCup head coach Alex Jensen (Utah Jazz assistant) and assistant coaches Mike Williams and Steve Wojciechowski.

    USA is in Group C alongside Mexico, Venezuela and Panama and they tip-off their AmeriCup tournament on September 2 against Mexico.
