ARGENTINA (FIBA AmeriCup 2017) - Sebastián Ginóbili explained what he senses will be lived next weekend at Osvaldo Casanova Stadium with the Group B matches in this edition of the FIBA AmeriCup 2017. Today “El Sepo”, as he is better known, coaches Bahia Basket in the Argentine National Basketball League. His track record includes being a former player for the Argentina National Team, an extensive career in the National Basketball League, and a stay at Spain’s ACB League, all of which began in the Bahiense del Norte team of his native city, which today serves as host.

“As a Bahiense, it's very significant to host a tournament of such importance in the city. The last senior tournament was the 1999 South American. Having the opportunity to see the best teams in the Americas playing in your city is amazing,” said the former point guard for the National Team that achieved the bronze in the 2006 South American Championship at Caracas, Venezuela.

“This type of tournament always serves to promote our sport. Even if it's this city's sport, it's always good to see that the younger players have the opportunity see a national team play and see themselves doing the same in the near future,” said Emanuel and Leandro Ginóbili's sibling.

“I'm very happy because the tournament's being played at Bahia Blanca’s Osvaldo Casanova Stadium. Even if one always aspires to have a stadium that meets the requirements of today's competition level, the Casanova is part of our history as Bahia Blanca athletes. The truth is that everything running perfectly and we hope that it’ll be a great tournament for the people and for the Argentine national team,” said the former Libertad de Sunchales player who won with them the National League Championship in the 2007-2008 season.
