    Mexico welcomes FIBA U16 Americas Championship

    MIAMI (United States) –The FIBA regional office in the Americas in association with the Mexican Basketball Federation have come together to bring the premier boys youth event of the Americas to Merida.

    MIAMI (United States) –The FIBA regional office in the Americas in association with the Mexican Basketball Federation have come together to bring the premier boys youth event of the Americas to Merida, Yucatan, Mexico.

    The event will be held from June 5th to the June 11th, and the top four teams from the competition advance to the FIBA U17 World Cup to be held in Turkey in June of 2024. The games will be played at the Poliforum Zamna, a 6,640-seat indoor multipurpose arena.

    The Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, and USA national teams headline this year’s U16 Americas Championship edition.

    This competition has seen many notable players such as RJ Barrett, Bradley Beal, Jean Montero, and Facundo Campazzo.

    The draw for both competitions, which determines the seeding of each participating federation, will be held on April 27th at 5pm ET in Miami, Fl.
