    FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2017 Quarter-Final games take centre stage in Rades

    RADES (FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2017) – Eight teams are ready for the big battle as the FIBA Africa Champions Cup 2017 enter the Quarter-final stage on Monday at the Salle Omnisports in Rades, Tunisia.

    In the first Quarter-final tie, Group A top performer Association Sportive Sale of Morocco will take on Ferroviario da Beira of Mozambique. AS Sale forward, Abdelhakim Zouita admitted that the real competition just started as his side have put behind the games played during the preliminary stages as they confront the Mozambiccan side.

    ‘‘For us the real competition just began and there is no looking down on any team that made it thus far. But fans should expect to see full compliment of AS Sale against Ferroviario,” Zouita declares.

    The second Quarter-final match-up is an Angolan derby between InterClube and Sport Libolo e Benfica. A pairing InterClube guard Henry Okechukwu Uhegwu wished never would happen this early but says his team will not accept anything other than victory.

    Uhegwu told FIBA.basketball:” It's painful we are meeting this early in the competition but there is nothing anyone can do but nothing short of victory for us will do.”

    Meanwhile, Groupement Sportif des Petroliers will square off against hosts Etoile Sportive Rades of Tunisia is a game to look forward given the huge expectation of the home fans but also a tricky tie as the Algerian champion are no pushover.

    GS Petroliers point guard Nicholas Alan Covington insists his side will approach the game as there is no tomorrow.
    Reminded of home crowd support for ES Rades, Covington told FIBA.basketball that “such crowd presence will only serve as motivation for players of GS Petroliers and put ES Rades under pressure.”

    In the last Quarter-final game, Ugandan side City Oilers will have their hands full when they face off tournament favorite Union Sportive Monastirienne with 70-30 odd favouring the Tunisian side to go through, but City Oilers centre dismiss such thinking that his side will shock many basketball faithfuls.
    ‘The game will not be a walk in the pack as many thinks, as we are have more urgency and composition to win against the Tunisian side.
