    Final rosters confirmed for the 2023 FIBA U16 African Championship in Monastir

    The final 12-players rosters for teams competing at the 2023 FIBA Africa U16 Championship were confirmed on Tuesday night following a FIBA Africa technical meeting.

     

    MONASTIR (Tunisia) – A total of ten teams will delve into action for the FIBA U16 African Championship 2023 from 13-23 in what is expected to be an exciting tournament. 

    The final 12-players rosters for teams competing at the 2023 FIBA Africa U16 Championship were confirmed on Wednesday night following a FIBA Africa technical meeting.

    The ten teams have drawn as follows:

    Group A: TUNISIA, RWANDA, COTE D'IVOIRE, ANGOLA, MALI
    Group B: EGYPT, GUINEA, UGANDA, MOROCCO, CHAD

    The championship will see the winner and runners-up qualify for the 2024 FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup.

    The 2023 biennial FIBA U16 starts on Thursday, July 13 and finishes on Sunday, July 23 in the Tunisian coastal city of Monastir.

    Mali v Cote d'Ivoire will tip off the Championship with Egypt facing Morocco later on.

    Before hosts Tunisia face Rwanda for the last game of the day, fans will witness an Opening Ceremony.

    COMPETITION SYSTEM - Teams are divided into two groups of five teams each. The teams that finish in the first four places of Groups A and B qualify directly to the Quarter-Finals.
