Pendande to provide the main push for Spain

MADRID (Spain) – The athleticism and strength of Lola Pendande looks like being the main source of joy for Spain after they announced their candidate list for the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2019

MADRID (Spain) – The athleticism and strength of Lola Pendande looks like being the main source of joy for Spain after they announced their candidate list for the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2019.

The forward made the All-Star Five last year at the FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship in Udine after top scoring for the silver medalists with 10.3 points and also 7.1 boards per game.

Andrea Hernangomez Ana Jiminez Bintu Lo Anna Palma
Lola Pendande Andrea Perez Laura Piera Alba Sanchez
Lorena Segura Maria Torreblanca Aixa Wone

Pendande will have to carry a lot of weight on her shoulders, since Spain have decide not to take classy playmaker Helena Pueyo or the towering Raquel Carrera.

It means the likes of Laura Piera (pictured) will have to step up in the backcourt and there will be a big emphasis on Aixa Wone to come alive alongside Pendande in the paint.

Spain will compete in Group D against Columbia, Germany and Japan.
