Competition for places on the final roster will be particularly fierce, with the core of the team made up from those who sealed a gold-medal winning double at the FIBA U17 Women’s World Championship and FIBA Oceania U18 Women’s Championship last year.
Eziyoda Magbegor also brings experience from the last edition of the FIBA U19 Women’s World Championship two years ago in Russia, while Chelsea Brook and Anneli Maley will offer a hard-nosed edge, having both played during the 2016-17 WNBL season.
Morgan Yaeger is also included and she will push for a spot after completing a solid Freshman year at the University of Oregon.
Australia will compete in Group D against Hungary, Japan and Mexico.
