European champions France ready to flourish in Minsk

PARIS (FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2018) – After a glorious title on home soil last year at Le Prado in Bourges at the FIBA U16 Women’s European Championship, France are hoping their gifted generation can excel on the global stage.
With their well-respected head coach Arnaud Guppillotte also back on board, this dream and winning combination could see them make a serious challenge for the podium at the FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2018.

The preparation will get underway on May 26 in Voiron, when 18 players will be given an opportunity to shine, with an important friendly tournament in Italy due to take place shortly before the main business in Minsk.
Leading the way is last year’s MVP Iliana Rupert, who has penned a deal with EuroLeague Women side, Tango Bourges Basket.

She will be joined in the paint by the athletic Kendra Chery who will be looking to make an even bigger impact than last year.
Meanwhile the backcourt will be looked after by a string of intelligent players such as Marie Pardon and Marine Fauthoux, with Zoe Wadoux delivering a major three-point threat.
