Vitulova and Pospisilova hit top gear in Reze

REZE (2016 FIBA U17 Women’s World Championship) – Czech Republic are still showing why they're the reigning European champions after Tereza Vitulova and Julie Pospisilova starred in a trio of wins in Reze.

REZE (2016 FIBA U17 Women’s World Championship) – Czech Republic are continuing to show why they are the reigning FIBA U16 Women’s European Championship winners after Tereza Vitulova and Julie Pospisilova starred at the Reze International Tournament.

In what has become a traditional warm-up to the FIBA U17 Women’s World Championship, the duo were the standout performers as they carried their side to a perfect three wins in France.

Vitulova showed why she formed such a devastating partnership in the paint with Veronika Sipova last year in Matosinhos, after some excellent play under the hoop.

Once Czech Republic had strolled past an Argentina U18 team by an eye-popping 78-23, Vitulova scored 13 points in a hard-fought 58-54 triumph against France.

She then followed that up with 17 further points in a convincing 67-50 success against an U18 Ireland side.

There was also continued good work posted by Pospisilova, who managed to top score across the tournament with three double-digit points returns.

Czech Republic will certainly have to maintain their rich vein of form to progress in Zaragoza.

For they find themselves in what some are describing as the ‘Group of Death,’ where they will face reigning champions USA, a physical Italy side who beat them last summer and Korea.
