ABUJA (2016 FIBA U17 Women's World Championship) - Nigeria are entering their last phase of preparation for their maiden FIBA U17 Women's World Championship appearance and are now closer to picking the roster for what will be an historic debut.
Having initially selected a wide field of 21 candidates, seven cuts have since been made by head coach Adeka Daudu, as his team try to make a splash in Spain.

Once again their leading scorer from last year’s FIBA Africa U16 Women's Championship, Rita Happy James, remains on course to lead the charge in Zaragoza.
Her offensive output will be vital, especially if she can find the same kind of scoring touch which returned 12.5 points per game in Madagascar.
The hard work in the paint will be undertaken by Ene Blessing Adams, who racked up an eye-popping 13.5 boards per game last year to help catapult her team to the Final.
Nigeria remain on course to field the same line-up that did so well in Antananarivo and will go up against Canada, Japan and Latvia in Group A.
