SEOUL (2016 FIBA U17 Women’s World Championship) - Proven chemistry could be the saviour for Korea ahead of competing in what could be argued as the toughest pool at the FIBA U17 Women’s World Championship.

Pitched into Group C where they will face holders USA, European champions Czech Republic and a powerful Italian side, Korea have opted to put their faith in continuity by bringing back all 12 players from the 2015 FIBA Asia U16 Women’s Championship.

Korea roster for 2016 FIBA U17 Women's World Championship
Minju Bak  Juri Im  Geumjin Jeong  Min Jung Kim
Gyongeun Lee  Jiwoo Lee  Sohee Lee  Yesol Lim
Jiyu Moon  Hyunji Park  Inah Park  Yebin Pyeon

Having finished third in their own continental championship and with a challenging three match-ups lying in wait in Zaragoza, there’s little doubt that Korea may have to punch way above their weight to cause what would be a real surprise if they upset any of their opponents.

Sohee Lee topscored last year for her country in Indonesia

Their challenge is likely to be spearheaded once again by Sohee Lee who led the way with 14 points per game last year in Medan.

Hyunji Park will have to get through some serious work on the glass if she is to repeat the excellent 11.6 rebounds per game she harvested while stepping out in Indonesia. She also underlined her super court vision by also coming up with almost three assists per game.

Meanwhile Korea will play at their third consecutive FIBA U17 Women's World Championship and are searching for a first top eight finish.
