PILSEN  (FIBA U17 World Championship for Women) - Angela Salvadores was rewarded for her sparkling tournament and playing a major hand in pushing USA hard in the FIBA U17 World Championship for Women final, by being named the  Most Valuable Player, presented by Tissot.

The Spanish star was inspirational for her team, amassing a wonderful and memorable 40 points as Spain almost clinched a first U17 world title, falling just short, 77-75.

The USA won gold for a third time, meaning they remain as the only winner of the event after three editions and there was an extra celebration for Katie Lou Samuelson and Joyner Holmes.

The pair were named to the All-Tournament Team and so too were Hungarian duo Virag Kiss and Debora Dubei, who took their team to the last place on the podium on their nation's debut outing in the competition.
