    Argentina bring three 2002-born players to U17 roster, seven back from U16 team

    RIO DE JANEIRO (FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2018) - Argentina have included a trio of 2002-born players on their U17 World Cup roster joining seven players back from the U16 Americas team.

    RIO DE JANEIRO (FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2018) - Argentina have included a trio of 2002-born players on their U17 World Cup roster joining seven players back from the team from the FIBA U16 Americas Championship 2017.

    Argentina coach Diego Lifschitz is bringing with him on his team Federico Copes, Mateo Diaz and Juan Francisco Fernandez, who are all a year younger than the rest of the competition. Argentina have been drawn into Group D of the U17 World Cup with Croatia, France and the Philippines in the June 30-July 8 tournament in Rosario and Santa Fe.

    LIfschitz had his team at a training camp in Mexico until June 21 before picking his roster.  Seven of the players selected were on the team that finished fourth at the FIBA U16 Americas Championship 2017. Missing among others will be Lautaro Pividori, who was second in assists and third in scoring.
