ISTANBUL (2016 FIBA U17 World Championship) - Turkey have locked in their roster for the 2016 FIBA U17 World Championship as head coach Fatih Elbas called back nine of the players who helped the country qualify for its first U17 Worlds.
Fenerbahce big man Ahmet Can Duran will captain the Turkish team, which finished third at the 2015 FIBA U16 European Championship.

Along with Duran, the other eight players back from last summer’s U16 team are Cagatay Afsar, Eray Akyuz, Leon Harun Apaydin, Ragip Berke Atar, Onuralp Bitim, Mert Konuk, Muhaymin Mustafa and Enis Sipahi. Akyuz and Konuk are both 2000-born players.
The trio of new players on the team is Furkan Ayca, Yigitcan Saybir and Erkin Senel.
Turkey will take on Chinese Taipei, Egypt and United States in Group A in Zaragoza.
