    Sottana and Zandalasini headline exciting Italian squad

    ROME (Italy) - Giorgia Sottana and Cecilia Zandalasini are set to lead Italy into the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2019 as they look to make a deep run at the tournament.

    ROME (Italy) - Giorgia Sottana and Cecilia Zandalasini are set to lead Italy into the FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2019 as they look to make a deep run at the tournament.

    Expectations have risen after Italy were pitched into a balanced Group containing Hungary, Slovenia and Turkey. And, it will surely be the experience and quality of Sottana, alongside the explosive firepower of Zandalasini that will prove the key ingredients for success.

    There is also a chance for the recently naturalized guard Nicole Romeo to make a Final Round debut, while Italy have put a big emphasis on giving young talents an opportunity too. The likes of  Olbis Futo Andre, Lorela Cubaj and Jasmine Keys are fighting it out to make the event for the first time.

    There may also be another pair of twins competing, with Caterina Dotto included in the squad and her sister Francesca having already featured at previous editions.
