In a somewhat surprise move, the headline takeaway from the announcement was that France are looking to the future, with the inclusion of teenage duo Iliana Rupert and Marine Fauthoux, Both excelled last year at the FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup, helping their country reach the title game in Minsk.

Half of the roster will make their Final Round debuts, with first time appearances pencilled in for the likes of Bria Hartley, Marieme Badiane, Ornella Bankole and Sara Chevaugeon.
Without the injured Helena Ciak, Diandra Tchatchoung and Sara Michel, much will hinge on the experience and talent of the key quartet of Marine Johannes, Endy Miyem, Sandrine Gruda and Valeriane Ayayi.
France are looking to take the next step after landing a trio of consecutive silver medals. The will initially compete in Group B with Czech Republic, Montenegro and Sweden.
