Traore was crowned MVP at the FIBA Women's AfroBasket last year after pouring in more than 21 points per game. Her firepower will drive the challenge of Senegal, who are looking to record their first win in the competition since 2006.
Meanwhile Sy-Diop brings quality and experience, including plenty of time spent playing in EuroLeague Women and has been one of her nation's most consistent performers at the biggest events.
Senegal will face reigning champions USA, along with China and Latvia during the opening phase of the competition.
