RIGA (FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018) - Latvia have laid out their plans ahead of the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018, with 20 players competing for a ticket to Tenerife.
Head coach Martins Zibarts will facilitate a camp between June 4 to June 10 that will see an initial 14 players congregate, with the get-together culminating in a game against Finland. Another six players will then join a second camp starting August 6.

During the preparatory phase, the women's national team will play 10 checking matches with elite teams, including five games in the Latvian capital. The initial squad sees 11 of the 12 who stepped out at EuroBasket Women 2017 return, with only Anna Dreimane missing.
The team will continue to be led by its veteran star Gunta Basko-Melnbarde, along with exciting NCAA winger Kitija Laksa and center, Anete Steinberga.
Latvia will compete in Group D against China, Senegal and the USA.
