AMMAN (Jordan) - The schedule and match-ups for the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2021 Division A have been finalized and confirmed ahead of the event to be held from September 27 to October 3. The competition will be played at the Prince Hamza Hall in Amman, Jordan.

The Group Phase will be played from September 27-29. For the Group Phase, the eight (8) teams are separated into two groups of four (4) according to the final standings of the 2019 FIBA Women's Asia Cup in Bengaluru, India.
The opening game of the Women’s Asia Cup Division A on September 27 will be between the five time defending champions and Tokyo 2020 silver medalists, Japan, and India at 10:00 AM (GMT +3). The highly anticipated rematch between China and Australia will be played on September 29 at 4:00 PM (GMT +3). The two teams have faced either other in high level competitions three times in the past 2 years and most recently at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, and the fans can feel a rivalry brewing.
September 30 will be the start of the Final Phase. The two qualification to semi-final games will be played between the teams that finished in 2nd and 3rd place during the Group Phase. The bottom-ranked teams of each group will then play in the 7th place classification game to close out the day.
The top team from each group will directly advance to the semi-finals which will be played on October 2 after a rest day. The 5th place classification game will also be played as the last game on this day.
The Final of the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2021 Division A will then be played on October 3 as well as the 3rd place classification game.
Aside from being the premier competition for women's basketball in the region, the FIBA Women's Asia Cup 2021 is also an important part of the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2022 qualification process.
