LUANDA (FIBA Africa Champions Cup Women 2017) - Ferroviario de Maputo forward Sarah Chan scored 15 points and picked nine rebounds to help her side book a place in the Semi-Finals at the ongoing FIBA Africa Champions Cup Women 2017 at the Kilamba Arena.

Chan, whose experience came into play against a familiar foe from her days playing for Olympic Club Alger, orchestrated the 83-44 win over GS Petroliers of Algeria on Friday to book a place in the last four.

"The aim today for us as a team was rebound, rebound, rebound and when you do that then offense comes somewhere." - Chan

Ferroviario de Maputo picked a total of 50 rebounds compared to GS Petroliers' 37, a statistic that left Inaki Garcia contented with his forwards specifically. Deolinda Gimo recorded 11 rebounds while Gisela Veronica Vega added seven.

Ana Suzanna Jaime scored 12 points while captain Ingvild Mucauro and Gimo added 11 points apiece to ensure the Mozambican outfit are on course to challenge for their first African trophy.

In an interview with FIBA.basketball, Chan said, "I found myself in the right position when the ball was being passed. The aim today for us as a team was rebound, rebound, rebound and when you do that then offense comes somewhere."

Meanwhile, First Bank of Nigeria saw off Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) 84-63 after a tough first quarter that they only led by a point 20-19.

Point guard Dominique Wilson scored an impressive 25 points and picked six rebounds while Nkechi Akashili added 24 points as the "Elephant Girls" marched into the Semi-Finals.

The 2015 African champions Primeiro de Agosto defeated Equity Bank Hawks 68-42 to secure their slot in the last four and on course to winning their third African trophy.

Leia Dongue and Alicia DeVaughn who dominated the paint dropped 11 and 10 points in that order en route to the Semi-Finals.
