BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL) Season 2 Sub-Zone Leagues Semi-Finals is all set to commence following its completion.

Iraq's Al Shorta on Wednesday finalized the cast after ousting Ittihad Ahli Aleppo, 76-70, in Game 3 of their West Asia League Qualification to Semis series at the Al Shaeb Hall in Baghdad, Iraq.

The team from Iraq will be taking on the "undefeated" Shahrdary Gorgan in the first semi-finals,  while the other semi-final bracket will feature a clash between long-time Lebanese basketball rivals Sagesse and defending West Asia League champions, Al Riyadi.

In the Gulf meanwhile, domestic rivals from Kuwait and Bahrain will go head to head. Reigning WASL Gulf league champions, Kuwait club, will face Kazma, while it's an all-Bahraini clash between last editions Champions, Manama, and Al Muharraq, who defeated UAE's Shabab Al Ahli - Dubai 2-1 in their exciting series.

Winners of the Sub-Zone Leagues Semis will not only head into the Sub-Zone Leagues Finals but will be punching their tickets as well to the FIBA WASL Final 8.

Losing sides in the Semis, meanwhile, will figure in a knock-out Third-Place Game. Winners will secure their places in the pan-regional competition's culminating event.
