Three-team West Asia contingent for FIBA WASL Final 8 complete
BEIRUT (Lebanon) - Three allocated spots for West Asia League teams in the FIBA WASL Final 8 in June have all been occupied.
BEIRUT (Lebanon) - All three tickets allocated specifically for FIBA West Asia League teams en route to the WASL Final 8 have been secured.
Beirut Club completed the cast after knocking out ZobAhan in the Third-Place Game Wednesday night, joining Al Riyadi and Gorgan to the June meet whose cast is nearing completion as the Gulf sides have sealed their places already.
Out to win every championship they could this year, Al Riyadi were the first from West Asia to book a trip to the Final 8 following their sweep of inter-city rivals Beirut Club in the best-of-3 Semi-Finals last April 26 in Manara.

Gorgan followed suit the next night as the reigning two-time Iranian Super League titlists also swept ZobAhan, setting up a West Asia Final against the Lebanese powerhouse in a best-of-3 encounter between former Group B foes.

Beirut Club, though, would keep their FIBA WASL title hopes alive by securing a third-place finish against the same team that ended their undefeated start into the season.
The trio will be joining Kuwait Club, Manama, and Shabab Al Ahli-Dubai -- who caught the last trip via Gulf by beating Al Hilal at home -- to the Final 8, where the domestic league champions of India and Kazakhstan are also seeing action.
