There will be 8 players from the Women’s Asia Cup 2019 Bronze Medal team playing to advance forward including All-Star Five member Rebecca Allen. Leaders in the 3 major statistical categories in Ezi Magbegor (12.0 points per game), Cayla George (6.5 rebounds per game), and Steph Talbot (3.8 assists per game) are also all on board.
Among the additions for the upcoming competition is the highly touted Liz Cambage who starred for Australia at the 2012 Olympics in London which resulted in a Bronze Medal. She will now be a part of the early journey towards redemption at the Olympics 2020 in Tokyo.
The Opals will be playing in Group B of the Pre-Qualifying Tournament along with Japan, Chinese Taipei, and India. The games will be played from November 14-17 at MABA Stadium in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.
Their first contest in Malaysia will be against Chinese Taipei at 17:00 (GMT +8) on November 14.
