    Top Performer honors for Tolo who leads Game 3 standouts

    TOKYO (Japan) - The final group games of the women's tournament are done and dusted, with Marianna Tolo earning Top Performer donors for her towering display as the Opals squeak into the Quarter-Finals.

    TOKYO (Japan) - The third and final group games of the Women's Olympic Basketball Tournament are done and dusted, with Marianna Tolo earning the Top Performer honor following her towering display for Australia against Puerto Rico.

    Needing a 24-point victory to advance to the Quarter-Finals, the center chose the best possible time for a mammoth performance which underpinned the Opals' 96-69 success. Tolo finished with a stellar efficiency rating of 41 as she racked up a giant double-double of 26 points and 17 rebounds - as well as passing for 4 assists. 

    Meanwhile, Astou Ndour was unstoppable for Spain who proudly finished top of Group A and with a perfect 3-0 record as they beat their rivals 76-66. The victory was founded on excellent from their star center who harvested an efficiency valuation of 35 after sinking 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting. Ndour also added 11 rebounds to complete a classy double-double.

    The Americans are also yet to taste defeat and they were grateful to A'Ja Wilson for another sensational display on what is turning so far into a dream first Olympic tournament dance for the frontcourt star. She torched France in a 93-82 win with an efficient 22 points and 7 rebounds, making 9-of-12 from the floor.

    Saki Hayashi erupted against Nigeria in Japan's 102-82 win as the host nation dropped 19 triples en route to the Quarter-Finals courtesy of a devastating shooting display. The guard was at the heart of it and responsible for a sizzling seven of those three-pointers as she accumulated 23 points.

    Finally, 2016 bronze medalists Serbia are back in the Quarter-Finals although they had to dig out a hard-fought 65-61 victory against Korea to make it. Had Aleksandra Crvendakic not put on a show with an all-action 15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals, the European champs would probably not have made it.
