    Young Thai starlets have their focus well set

    MEDAN (2015 FIBA Asia U16 Championship for Women) - Thunchanok Lumpdappang and Rattiyakorn Udomsuk put on eye-popping performances for Thailand and helped their nation retain their Level I status in the FIBA Asia U16 Championship for Women.

    Rattiyakorn finished the tournament as her team’s leading scorer, averaging 19 points, while Lumpdappang topped the rebounding charts with 10 rebounds, while averaging also 13 points.

    “I’m proud and happy to have represented my nation in this tournament,” Lumpdappang said.

    “Everybody’s delighted with my performances, but I don’t want to get carried away, instead, I want to concentrate on improving and becoming even better in the future,” she added.

    Udomsuk meanwhile, thanked the coach and the team manager for granting her the opportunity to participate in this tournament and vowed to keep her momentum going.

    “I worked hard during the selection trials, I wanted to impress the coach and Mrs. Netsai (team manager), and fortunately they selected me and I’m thankful,” she said.

    “This tournament was a valuable experience for me, I benefited from the experience and the competitive environment, it’s time for me now to focus on the future,” she concluded.

    Thailand retained their Level I status in the FIBA Asia U16 Championship for Women with a 74-60 win over hosts, Indonesia.
