    Rosters confirmed ahead of tip-off at FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments

    BELGRADE / KAUNAS / SPLIT / VICTORIA (Serbia / Lithuania / Croatia / Canada) - The rosters of 23 participating teams have been confirmed ahead of the start of the four FIBA OQTs.

    BELGRADE / KAUNAS / SPLIT / VICTORIA (Serbia / Lithuania / Croatia / Canada) - The rosters of 23 participating teams are confirmed ahead of the start of the four FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments.

    Six teams will compete at each tournament, with the winner of each event securing their place in the  Men's Basketball Tournament at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

    The Group Phase will commence on June 29 and conclude on July 4.  The top two teams from each group in the four tournaments will advance to the Semi-Finals.

    On July 4, the Olympic Qualifying Tournament Finals in Belgrade, Kaunas, Split and Victoria. The match-up in the Finals come from the Semi-Finals winners of their respective event, which takes place the day before the Finals.

    Belgrade - Group A: Dominican Republic, Philippines, Serbia; Group B: Italy, Puerto Rico

    Kaunas - Group A: Lithuania, Korea, Venezuela; Group B: Angola, Poland, Slovenia

    Split - Group A: Germany, Mexico, Russia; Group B: Brazil, Croatia, Tunisia

    Victoria - Group A: Canada, China, Greece; Group B: Czech Republic, Turkey, Uruguay

    The national team of Senegal will not participate in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) in Belgrade, Serbia.

    FIBA was informed by the National Federation of Senegal about COVID-19 related disruptions to their preparations in Germany. Despite continuous effort from FIBA and the German Basketball Federation to support the Senegalese delegation, the team will not be able to travel to Belgrade and take part in the OQT.

    The games Puerto Rico vs Senegal and Senegal vs Italy will not take place and Senegal will lose these two games by forfeit.

    The remaining games in Belgrade are not impacted and are set to take place as planned.

    FIBA will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and communicate any further updates regarding its competitions if necessary.

    The four teams that qualify will join the eight teams that have already earned their country's participation at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

    Argentina, Australia, France, Iran, Nigeria, Spain and the United States qualified directly via the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019. Japan qualified as the host of the Olympic Games.
