CANBERRA (FIBA U19 World Championship) - Australia have updated their preliminary squad for the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship, cutting three players after their first training camp and adding two players.

The current 15-man roster sees Jayden Hodgson, Matthew Kenyon and Matthew McCarthy cut from the 16-member list from the 23-27 April training camp. Hodgson was on the Australian team that reached the Final 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship.

In the meantime, Australia coach Adam Caporn added to his roster George Blagojevic and Geremy McKay.

While McKay has yet to play for Australia internationally, Blagojevic played a major role in Australia qualifying for the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship as he averaged 14.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists at the 2014 FIBA Oceania U18 Championship. He missed the first camp due to injury.

"I'm really excited about our squad," Caporn said. "It's young, talented and I think it will represent Australia in a positive way."

The Emus are expected to have another training camp from 25-28 May in Canberra, where the coaching staff will likely choose the final 12 players for the 2015 FIBA U19 Worlds. The Australians have been drawn into Group C with Canada, Italy and Tunisia.

"We will face a variety of different basketball styles and systems as well as the best players in the world which will be great," Caporn added.

"It will be an incredible challenge but one we are really excited for. We will need to be united and at our best."

Australia preliminary squad for the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship: George Blagojevic, Kyle Clark, Harry Froling, Deng Gak, Angus Glover, Jordan Hunter, Tanner Krebs, Geremy McKay, William McDowell-White, Jack McVeigh, Jock Perry, Rhys Vague, Dejan Vasiljevic, Jack White and Tom Wilson.
