    Madagascar confirmed as hosts for FIBA Africa Women's Championship Cup 2019

    ABIDJAN (Cote d'Ivoire) - FIBA Africa has confirmed Madagascar as the hosts for the FIBA Africa Women's Champions Cup 2019 to be held from December 6-15 at Palais des Sports Mahamasima.

    ABIDJAN (Cote d'Ivoire) - FIBA Africa has confirmed Madagascar as the hosts for the FIBA Africa Women's Champions Cup 2019. 

    Africa's premier event for women's club basketball will be held in the capital of Antananarivo at Palais des Sports Mahamasima from December 6-15.

    The annual competition heads to the Malagasy Republic for the very first time off mainland Africa in a move to embrace the diversity across the continent. 

    Madagascar has experience hosting continental events dating back to the FIBA Women's AfroBasket 2009 before welcoming Africa once again two years down the road for the FIBA AfroBasket 2011. 

    Ferroviario de Maputo are the FIBA ACCW 2018 Champions

    The reigning champions Ferroviario de Maputo of Mozambique and hosts MB2ALL are automatically already qualified for the event. 

    Ten slots are available for the 12-team showpiece with regional qualifiers coming up next month across Africa. Angolan giants Inter Clube remain the most decorated side with five titles won in 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2016.
