MUNICH - Jiri Welsch and Ann Wauters are among some of the biggest names to sign up for FIBA Europe's groundbreaking TIME-OUT project, with limited spaces still available.

The one-time only project, being organised by FIBA Europe in conjunction with Erasmus+ offers the unique opportunity for elite basketball players to further their education in order to remain in sport following the conclusion of their playing days.

Commencing in 2017, the course will take place over two years with most of the work being completed remotely.

Welsch has a long-established national team career with Czech Republic, as well as playing throughout his extensive career in the NBA and with a host of top European clubs.

Ann Wauters is one of the most recognisable figures in the women's game, having achieved an extremely rare treble of winning EuroLeague Women, EuroCup Women and the WNBA.

A full overview of the project, and further information about where interested applicants can apply, is available here.

Players, via their national federations, have until 31 December to register for the project.
